ARHS PHP&R

Regional Planning & Coordination for Preparedness & Response:

ARHS PHP&R works through the Albemarle Health & Safety Coalition to develop plans and coordinate response and information.  Partner agencies include county Emergency Management, local hospitals, law enforcement, USCG Support Center, mental health, DSS, schools, EMS, neigboring health departments, Public Health Regional Surveillance Team 1, Eastern Region Advisory Committee, Red Cross and many more. 
 
Committees include:
  • The Regional Preparedness Committee
    • Purpose:  To coordinate regional planning for all-hazards preparedness and response efforts.
    • Meets the fourth Thursday of each month.
    • Chair: Ashley Stoop, ARHS PHP&R
  • The Public Information & Communications Committee
    • Purpose: To coordinate regional public information officers to ensure timely and consistent reporting of key messages in any event or disaster.
    • Meets virtually via Smile Tiger bi-monthly and every six months for training.
    • Chair: Jill Jordan, ARHS
  • The Legal & Ethics Committee
    • Purpose: To discuss and plan for public health and medical emergencies, taking ethical and legal considerations into play for all partner agencies.
    • Meets as needed.
    • Chair: Joe Bunch, Perquimans County Schools
